About the Museum

Zoology Museum

Our Zoological Museum is Hall Mark of the department with collection of more than 1500 rare and unique specimens. Skeletons (Indian Elephant complete skeleton, whale backbone and shark jaws), human embryos including identical twins are the symbols of this museum. The Zoology museum plays a vital role in many aspects of our academic working life. The specimens from the museum are regularly used in our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, with many non-zoological students visit the museum and gather knowledge about the aquatic and terrestrial living organisms. Similarly, the medical college students from various places used to visit the embryological specimens with identical twins. Our department teaching, non-teaching and students are delighted to work for maintaining museum specimen by periodically changing formalin, arranging the specimens and upgrading the accessing process like installing QR code for the specimens.
