 Description:

        Found in very shallow, rocky, littoral zone, exposed to sunlight and surf; on horizontal, algae-covered terraces. Feed on benthic invertebrates and algae. Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive, and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal. Males guard eggs in burrows. Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters.
