Description:

        Dorsal spines (total): 14 - 15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-20; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 6 - 8; Vertebrae: 33. Adults have evenly spaced white spots over the entire head and body. Commonly found in kelp and weed areas of shallow rocky reefs exposed to strong surge and wave action. Feed on invertebrates and small fishes.
